Extension of Life Cycle Assessment methodology to the economic and social issues to support sustainable product design

The research focuses on the tool life cycle assessment (LCA) that refers to the evaluation not only environmental, but also social and economic benefits and negative impacts in decision-making processes throughout their life cycle, to support Product Development Process (PDP). By the mean of the analysis of recent scientific literature, appropriate criteria, related to the characteristics of PDP and consistent with the environmental, economic and social impacts, will be defined and tested for the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) in the PDP
