Περιγραφή
PhD program in Chemical and Material Sciences, in the frame of an ITN - Marie Curie project
Description
PhD Title: Theoretical and experimental investigations of dynamics involved in hydrogen release and uptake and ion conductivity of advanced nano-materials.
The investigations will focus on model hydride systems, combining theoretical and experimental methods. Ab initio and CALPHAD modelling will be carried out. Results from extended experimental studies will be used to study the sorption process of hydrogen. Kinetics of charge/discharge process in hydride model materials will be analysed via spectroscopic (e.g. ssNMR) and electrochemical studies.
Note: The position includes short periods of research at Tohoku University (Japan), University of Münster (Germany), University of Genève (Switzerland) and SAFT SAS (France).
Applications are invited from candidates with the following key qualifications:
- Master degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineer, with a good background in the characterisation of materials with emphasis on metallic or complex hydrides.
- Good laboratory experience in X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis and gas sorption techniques, thermal analysis (TGA, DSC) and electrochemical measurements.
- The candidates should have a good level in English (oral and written).
