Περιγραφή

The Department of Psychiatry announces the availability of a one-year postdoctoral research fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. There is an option for a second year of funding, which is dependent on mutual interest and the availability of funding. The fellowship is funded by a NIDA training grant (T32-DA031098) led by Steven Paul Woods and his colleagues at the UCSD HIV Neurobehavioral Research Program (HNRP) and the Translational Methamphetamine AIDS Research Center (TMARC). The fellowship emphasizes research training in neurocognitive, neuroimaging, and everyday functioning outcomes in addictions and HIV infection. The fellow will engage in an individualized, mentored clinical research training program that will include structured didactics. UCSD HNRP is directed by Igor Grant, M.D., and includes a multidisciplinary research team with experts in neuropsychology (e.g., Drs. Woods and Grant, as well as Robert K. Heaton, Ph.D.), neuroimaging (e.g., Gregory G. Brown, Ph.D.), psychiatry, infectious disease, neurosciences, and neuropathology. There are also dedicated units in data management and information systems, biostatistics, and participant outreach. The HNRP and TMARC currently support dozens of federally-funded grants and provide leadership for both national and international neuroAIDS research. Depending upon the fellow’s interests, additional research opportunities may be available in the treatment of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders, as well as neuroAIDS in resource-limited settings, underserved populations, and comorbidies/cofactors (e.g., hepatitis C infection, mental illness, and aging).

Demonstrated interest/productivity in neuropsychological research is required. Previous research experience in addictions and HIV infection is desired, but not necessary.

The formal application will require a letter of interest, curriculum vita and three letters of reference and should be sent by February 1st directly to Dr. Woods. Interviews may be conducted on-site at UCSD and/or at the February INS meeting in Seattle.

The University of California San Diego is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
