1 PostDoc Position on Ion Channels in Czech Republic | Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague (Czech Republic) to study neuronal calcium channels, physiological functions and pathological alterations in primary sensory neurons. In particular the project will investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of voltage-gated calcium channels membrane trafficking and regulation in neuropathic pain. The position offers a unique opportunity for a talented scientist to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment and to develop their career at the interface of basic research and drug discovery.

Candidates should have demonstrated extensive experience with biochemistry and molecular biology (e.g. protein/protein interaction, PCR, cloning, mutagenesis). Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the study of protein trafficking, mammalian cell culture (ideally primary sensory neurons), or confocal microscopy. General understanding of electrophysiology and pharmacology of ion channels will be appreciated. Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent in Biochemistry, Cellular Physiology / Neuroscience or related fields.
