Περιγραφή
MARIN is looking for an early stage researcher for its Renewable Energy Team to undertake a 36 month research project. The researcher would be based at MARIN in Wageningen (The Netherlands), but will have the opportunity to make secondments to WavEC (Portugal) during the course of his/her study.
Description
The objective of this research work is to improve modeling tools and methods for Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT). In recent years, several concepts of floating offshore wind turbines have been tested in MARIN facilities. In these model tests new methods have been applied to account for the complexity of offshore wind turbines and scaling issues. MARIN uses and develops numerical tools for commercial studies and research projects. As part of his research tasks, the researcher will investigate how MARIN’s numerical tools can be used to calculate waves, wind and current loads on floating wind turbines. He will also study how the response of the turbine can be modeled with these tools. The goal of this research work is to improve the numerical assessment of the main loads acting on a floating offshore wind turbine and its response to these loads.
