Περιγραφή
Correlated electron systems such as transition metal oxides harbor a wealth of properties with potential applications. This is especially true in the field of thermo-electricity where one aims at recycling part of the immense heat that is wasted in industrial and domestic activities. Understanding the electronic excitations of potential compounds is desirable to tailor new ones with optimized properties. Hence the goal of the PhD is to develop a theoretical approach to the calculation of the one-electron Green's function and transport coefficients on equal footing.
It is planed to work it out numerically for microscopic models of anisotropic transition metal oxides in order to elucidate the role of the parameters of the microscopic relevant models. Good knowledges of second quantization and taste for analytical and numerical calculations will be of great help for reaching the goals.
