PhD Student positions at the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems in Switzerland | ETH Zürich

The Multi Scale Robotics Lab at the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland is looking for highly motivated individuals as PhD Students in the area of Robotics, Systems, and Control with a focus on medical and/or micro robotics.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in an academic career. By working in our lab, you will be exposed to robotics applications related to microtechnology, nanotechnology, biology, and biomedical engineering. Six people have left our lab for careers in academia over the past few years, helped at least somewhat by the experience they gained with us. While a yearly contract is offered, funding for the position will remain for at least five years.

The successful candidate should hold a Master’s degree and strong qualifications in engineering and programming. Candidates should be willing to work hard as part of a team. English Proficiency is required. Knowledge of German is useful, but not necessary.
