Your contribution to the research project will include the identification, cloning and further characterization of relevant genes that play a crucial role in virus resistance in pepper and other Solanaceous crops.

Within the vegetable crop research unit you will strengthen the team that is working on resistances against a range of plant pathogens among which several plant viruses. Your contribution to the research project will include the identification, cloning and further characterization of relevant genes that play a crucial role in virus resistance in pepper and other Solanaceous crops. The research will be performed partly at KeyGene and partly in the laboratory of Prof. B.C. Kang at Seoul National University (Korea). This academic partner is internationally highly recognized for their work on breeding for virus resistance in vegetable crops. At KeyGene, you will work within the trait biology research group of Dr. Martin de Vos.
