The Institute of Biomedicine at the University of Helsinki in Helsinki, Finland offers a unique and stimulating research environment surrounded by state-of-the-art resources and facilities of the leading and largest biomedical research campus in Finland.
The laboratory established one year ago in the Institute of Biomedicine in Helsinki under the FiDiPro program of the Academy of Finland for Prof. Vlad Verkhusha from the United States is currently inviting applications for
TWO POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS
The positions are initially offered for three years with a four month trial period, and with possible extension upon your performance and publications. An appointee to the position shall hold a doctoral degree, have the ability to conduct independent scholarly work and have teaching skills necessary for the position. Experience in molecular biology, protein chemistry, cell biology, biophysics or neuroscience is desirable.
The goal of the laboratory is to develop several novel types of the fluorescent proteins, molecular biosensors and optogenetic tools as well as the advanced microscopy methods for analysis, manipulation and modification of biochemical processes in live cultured cells and in brain of living animals using light.
Recently, the Nature family of journals selected the fluorescence super-resolution microscopy and the optogenetics as the Methods of the Year.
