1 PhD Fellowship within the programme ITN-DCH – Initial Training Network for Digital Cultural Heritage at the School of Rural & Surveying Engioneering in Athens | National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)

ITN-DCH brings worldwide top Universities, research centers, industries and CH stakeholders together to collaborate in training the next generation of researchers in Digital Cultural Heritage for the benefit of CH. The Fellow will work in the research fields of 2D/3D Digitalization (automations for 2D and 3D data acquisition, photogrammetry, Laser Scanning, depth camera sensors, SfM etc.), Computer Vision (Image processing, geometric invariant visual features, data-preprocessing/filtering, Pattern recognition), Computer Graphics (modeling), Metadata enrichment for tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage and Cloud Computing applications. He/She will enroll for a PhD at NTUA in the fields of Development of Innovative methodologies for 2D/3D Data capturing, including new metadata interface for tangible cultural heritage (3D/4D forms), New metadata interface for intangible cultural heritage, Geometry enriched feature extraction algorithms and learning and pattern recognition algorithms.

Eligibility:

The Applicant should:

• Have completed at least a four or five year education cycle (e.g. Diploma in Engineering, Master’s Degree etc) from a recognized university in Geomatics, Computer- / Electrical Engineering Computer Science and/or Surveying Engineering with less than four (4) years of continuous full-time research experience in the above fields, with excellent programming skills and very good language and communication / implementation skills
• At the time of recruitment, not have resided (or carried out his/her main activity e.g. work, studies, etc.) in Greece, for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to the reference recruitment date.
• Excellent knowledge of the English language at a proficiency level (spoken and written)

• Official transcripts of grades from all academic institutions of higher education listed in his/her application, certified copies of degrees, or/and certifications of fulfillment of the required obligations for entering a graduate PhD programme

• Copies of any related research papers or other significant work by the applicant
