Περιγραφή
The Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation/Prof. Dr. Georg von Krogh offers two PhD positions within the area of strategic management. We are looking for young aspiring scholars with strong academic ambitions.
Position 1: Our team conducts research on a number of topics in the broader area of Strategic Management and Innovation, including knowledge management, collaborative innovation, leadership, information systems, organization and management theory, and competitive strategy. The prospective PhD student will conduct theoretical and empirical research within these focus areas.
Position 2: Open innovation is a phenomenon that has gained a great deal of attention from business scholars as well as practitioners. At the core of open innovation is the question how firms can engage with outside parties in their internal innovation processes. Despite current research demonstrating many advantages of open innovation, more work is needed on how firms have to organize in these settings. Moreover, we still lack proper processual theorizing as to how firms “learn to become open”. The PhD candidate will work conceptually and empirically on various aspects of open innovation, including knowledge search and learning, organization design, and leadership.
We invite applications from candidates with an outstanding master degree in business administration, economics, sociology, psychology, technology management, mathematics or econometrics. You should have strong quantitative and/or qualitative skills in scientific research methods and have an interest and willingness to work hard to further improve those skills. Excellent knowledge of English both in written and spoken is a prerequisite (German skills are an advantage). Furthermore, you should enjoy writing and be self-directed and curious about theoretical and empirical puzzles in management and organization.
