Περιγραφή
The Centre for Particle Physics Phenomenology (CP3-Origins) and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense invite applications for one or two PhD positions. The positions will be filled in the areas of lattice field theory and strongly interacting dynamics beyond the Standard Model.
We are looking for outstanding, young and highly motivated candidates with a clear potential to excel in particle physics.
The Centre for Particle Physics Phenomenology is a centre of excellence established by the Danish National Research Foundation, dedicated to the understanding of the origins of bright and dark matter in the universe. We are among the world leaders in studies of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking, its phenomenological consequences and the phase diagram of gauge theories.
CP3-Origins offers an extremely dynamical and exciting working environment and it is a reference point for high energy physics in the Nordic countries. The centre has active collaborations with many major physics institutions in Europe, the US and Asia.
Appointments will be made for a term of three or four years at very competitive salary, and are expected to start as soon as possible in 2014 and, in any case, no later than September 2014. Interested candidates are required to include in the application at least two letters of recommendation.
The positions will be financed by the Lundbeck Foundation Fellowship held by lattice group leader Professor Claudio Pica.
Application, salary etc.
Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three (students who have completed their MSc) or four years (students who have not yet completed their MSc). Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three- or four-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement of 1 October 2008 on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
The university encourages all persons interested in the position to apply, regardless of their age, gender, religious affiliation or ethnic background.
Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will neither be considered nor evaluated. This also applies to reference letters.
