Applications are invited from potential doctoral students for the following disciplinary pathways: Area and Development Studies, Economic and Social History, Economics, Education, Human Geography, Management and Business Studies, Political Science and International Studies, Psychology, Social Policy, Social Work, Socio-legal Studies and Sociology. Studentships are also available in a further five interdisciplinary pathways: Advanced Quantitative Methods in Social Science and Health (AQM), Environment, Energy and Resilience, Global Political Economy: Transformations and Policy Analysis, Health and Wellbeing and Security, Conflict and Justice
Course Level: Studentships are available for pursuing PhD degree at Universities of Bristol, Exeter and Bath.
Scholarship Provider: South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) which has been accredited by the ESRC.
Eligibility: To be eligible for an ESRC award recipients must be able to demonstrate established UK residency for a period of at least three years, not for the purpose of full time education (unless they are an EU national), prior to undertaking the studentship.
Scholarship Open for: ESRC award recipients must be able to demonstrate established UK residency for a period of at least three years. South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) is delighted to announce the availability of 41 fully-funded studentships in the ESRC accredited South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC). The SWDTC draws together the Universities of Bristol, Exeter and Bath. These have a strong track record in advancing knowledge through high quality research and teaching in partnership with business, professions, the public services, the third sector and other research and learning providers.
Duration: Studentships are offered for three or four years at University of Bath, three-year at Universities of Bristol and Exeter.
What does it cover? These are fully funded studentships.
Notification: Applicants will be notified whether their application has been successful by mid-April 2014. Successful applicants will be expected to start in October 2014.
Application: Prospective students must apply to their host University (Bristol, Bath or Exeter) using their institution specific information and online application forms.
Application Deadline: The deadline for applications for an ESRC studentship commencing in October 2014 is thursday 13th February 2014.
