1 Post Doctoral Research Fellowship Level 1 PD1 Food Chemistry in Ireland | Teagasc (Agriculture and Food Development Authority)

Basic Function of the post:

The Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority is seeking to fill a short term position at Teagasc Food Research Centre Ashtown (TFRCA) for a natural product chemist in nutraceutical research. The successful candidate will be involved in the application of a range of scientific approaches in the chemical and biological sciences.

Duties & Responsibilities specific to this project:

• Participate in a team of researchers in on-going research activities where appropriate
• Deliver high quality research outputs leading to peer reviewed publication(s).

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

• To interpret research findings and prepare scientific and popular press publications.
• To disseminate research findings to a variety of audiences as appropriate.
• To assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and action plan.
• To comply with all relevant Teagasc policies and procedures.
• To actively participate in the Teagasc Post Doctoral Fellowship programme and review processes, and to undertake all Post Doctoral fellowship training and associated duties as agreed in the Training & Development Plan.
• To take up additional duties as they may arise and be assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL

• PhD in Food Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, or cognate fields
• Relevant research experience not to exceed 3 years’ post-PhD
