Uppsala University is an international research university focused on the development of science and education. Presently we are building up the FREIA Laboratory where part of the radio-frequency (RF) power system and superconducting accelerating cavities for the European Spallation Source (ESS) will be developed. We are building a test stand to study a complete section of the ESS accelerator. The doctoral student will work on experimental and theoretical aspects to optimize the performance of the RF system with cavity.
We are looking for qualified and motivated candidates with a strong interest in calculation techniques and experimental methods. The candidate shall have completed his or her MSc studies in physics or applied physics. Very good oral and written proficiency in English is a requirement as well as the capacity to work both independently and in a team. The project includes work related travel, details are available on request.
For appointment as doctoral student, the applicant must have been admitted to the postgraduate education. Local guidelines exist for salary levels.
