1 Postdoctoral Research position within the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science in Ireland | NUI Galway (National University of Ireland)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full time one year position as a postdoctoral researcher within the Glycoscience Group, National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science at the National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is funded by Science Foundation Ireland and is available from March 1st 2014 to contract end date of 28th February 2015.

Description

The successful candidate will seek to identify a panel of MM-specific diagnostic targets in serum, based on glycosylation changes during the course of the disease, which will form the basis of a multiplex microarray binding assay for monitoring minimal residual disease (MRD). Excellent facilities and equipment are available within the Glycoscience Group to support this project. The successful candidate will work closely with the scientific and clinical supervisors to achieve the aims of the project and will aid in the research supervision of a PhD student and junior members of the team.

Requirements

Required Education Level:

Degree Applicants must have a Ph.D. or a Ph.D. in prospect in a chemical or biological science and have experience in glycobiology, microarrays and binding assays.
