1 Postdoctoral position in Differential Topology in Germany | University of Freiburg

Candidates should hold a PhD and work in "Differential Topology".

We are looking for an independent researcher with projects in the area mentioned above. The holder of the position is expected to take his or her Post-doctorate and the step to a permanent position (not in Freiburg) while holding the position. We expect active participation in activities of the group like seminars and grant proposals, for example in the Graduiertenkolleg 1821 Cohomological Methods in Geometry.

The teaching obligation is 4 hours/week during the full term. It will consist e.g. in the organization of example sessions for lectures, supervision of student seminars, later lectures.

Foreigners are encouraged to apply. In mid-range perspective reasonable knowledge of German is needed.

The starting date is negotiable, as well as unpaid leave during the period of the position.

Besides meeting the general requirements of civil service law we expect a qualified PhD in mathematics.

As women are still underrepresented in Mathematics, female mathematicians are particularly welcome to apply.
