Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) Scholarships | East-West Center

DIKTI Scholarships are intended for Indonesians who meet the requirements to apply that are set by DIKTI. Eligibility requirements are available on the DIKTI website.

Note: Assuming you are eligible and apply for a DIKTI Scholarship, when your University of Hawai'i graduate admissions application materials are mailed to the East-West Center, a copy of the scholarship application documents you submitted to DIKTI must also be included.

Do I have to pay the university admissions application fee?

DIKTI Scholarship applicants are not required to pay the University of Hawai‘i admissions application fee.

What is the deadline for submission of my application documents?

All required University of Hawai‘i application materials including supporting documents such as essays, test scores, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by December 1 so as ensure they are received at the East-West Center no later than December 15—in time for the scheduled preliminary review of candidates’ complete application file.

If my application is accepted, when would I receive an official letter of admission from the university?

For DIKTI Scholarship applicants, the University of Hawai‘i will provide an official letter of admission to all qualified, accepted candidates for graduate degree study by February 15 of the immediately prior academic year.

Where can I find a list of all documents I am required to submit for my university admissions application?

The specific application documents you must provide will depend on your field of study. For example, some University of Hawai'i graduate programs require a GRE score report while others do not. And, some programs require applicants to submit items such as special departmental forms, curriculum vitae or resumé, writing samples, or other materials. All the required application forms and supporting documents needed for each field of study at the University of Hawai‘i can be found by clicking on the Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree program links on the University of Hawai'i Graduate Programs webpage and then looking under the section labeled “Admissions Requirements”.

Can I submit other supporting documents in addition to the application materials that are required by my field of study?

In addition to all required application materials, applicants do have the option of providing additional documentation such as a curriculum vitae or resumé, or samples of previous academic work they consider relevant to their application. Samples can take the form of a published article, conference paper, representative chapter of a master’s thesis or a substantial seminar report or term paper, etc. Do not submit a complete thesis or any book-bound material.

Where should my university admissions application be mailed?

Except for TOEFL or GRE test results (see further instructions below), all your University of Hawai‘i graduate admissions application materials along with a copy of the scholarship application documents you submitted to DIKTI must be mailed directly to the East-West Center at the following address:
