Sergio Lombroso Fellowships in Cancer Research | Weizmann Institute of Science

These fellowships are established in memory of the lawyer Sergio Lombroso, of Verona, Italy, whose generosity enables the Weizmann Institute to provide these funds in support of cancer research.

Qualifications

Lombroso Fellowships are awarded to qualified candidates from Italy, who wish to pursue cancer research as Postdoctoral Fellows at the Weizmann Institute.

The Selection Process

Candidates should seek acceptance with a scientist in whose lab they would like to research, and in parallel communicate with Ms. Daniela di Segni, coordinator of the Lombroso Program in Italy.

Acceptance depends on approval by the Feinberg Graduate School of formal student status or eligibility for postdoctoral status, acceptance by a host lab at Weizmann, and academic achievements.

Time Limit

Lombroso Fellowships are awarded for one year, with the possibility of an extension for a second year.

Benefits

Lombroso Fellows are entitled to the same benefits all other Postdoctoral Fellows enjoy. The Lombroso Fellowship which is equal to the regular WIS Postdoctoral Fellowship is not paid in addition to the regular fellowship but it replaces it.
