The David Lopatie Fellows Program at Feinberg Graduate School | Weizmann Institute of Science

The David Lopatie Fellowships program is a two year program aimed at recognizing the top ranked MSc candidates of the Feinberg Graduate School [FGS]. The David Lopatie Fellows will receive all benefits awarded to all MSc students, and, in addition, will benefit from privileges beyond those awarded to all MSc students (see below).

Selection Procedures

The David Lopatie Fellows will be selected out of the best cadre of applicants to the MSc program. The Chairs of the FGS Boards of Studies will pick the top ranked candidates who were accepted to the MSc program and recommend them to the FGS Dean to be considered for the David Lopatie Fellows program. The FGS Dean, together with the Chairs of the Boards of Studies, will select the final list of the David Lopatie Fellows for the next academic year.

Special Benefits and privileges

1. The prestige of being awarded a special status of excellence among their peers and receipt of a certificate indicating that they were awarded special status.

2. An early pass to the Direct PhD track, if desired, and provided they fulfill the academic requirements of the programs. Such early pass to the Direct PhD track will entitle the David Lopatie Fellows to begin their studies towards a PhD degree at the beginning of their second year of studies at FGS, and will only be available to the David Lopatie Fellows.

3. An increased scholarship will be granted to The David Lopatie Fellows who participate in the Direct PhD track during their second year of studies at FGS, which shall equal to the scholarship granted to the first year PhD students at FGS.

4. A personal travel allowance to scientific meetings, workshops and schools, including to academic institutions and conventions overseas, in an amount equal to half of the travel allowance granted to PhD students at FGS.
