The Institute of Biomedicine at the University of Helsinki in Helsinki, Finland offers a unique and stimulating research environment surrounded by state-of-the-art resources and facilities of the leading and largest biomedical research campus in Finland. A new laboratory is presently being established in the Institute under the FiDiPro grant for Prof. Vladislav Verkhusha.
The laboratory is inviting applications for two Post-Doctoral researchers.
The position is initially offered for three years with a 4-month trial period, and with possible extension upon your performance and publications.
An appointee to the position of post-doctoral researcher shall hold a doctoral degree, have the ability to conduct independent scholarly work and have the teaching skills necessary for the position. Experience in molecular biology, protein chemistry or biophysics is desirable.
The goal of the new laboratory is to develop new fluorescent proteins, molecular biosensors and optogenetic tools as well as advanced microscopy methods to be employed for analysis, manipulation and modification of biochemical processes in live cells and model animals using light.

The University of Helsinki rents apartments with quite reasonable rents to the international post-docs. Employees of the University of Helsinki are covered by excellent health insurance that is free.
