Postdoctoral Researcher in Crystal Engineering in Ireland | University of Limerick

Overall purpose of the job

To work as a postdoctoral researcher on an externally funded project from Science Foundation Ireland examining the relevance of crystal engineering to porous materials (e.g. metal organic materials, inclusion compounds) and /or pharmaceutical materials (e.g. multi-component pharmaceutical materials, polymorphism)

Essential Criteria

• PhD completed or at final stages of completion in relevant field
• Demonstrable evidence of training/experience in the field of crystal engineering that addresses the relevance of crystal engineering to porous materials (e.g. metal-organic materials, inclusion compounds) and/or pharmaceutical materials (e.g. multi-component pharmaceutical materials, polymorphism)
• High impact publications

Desirable Criteria

• High impact publications as first author
• 2 or more years of experience with relevant techniques (e.g. computer modelling, gas adsorption and/or x-ray crystallography) and experimental skills (e.g. crystallization, chemical synthesis)
• Relevant experience in applications of crystal engineering beyond Ph.D. studies such as working in an industrial or government lab setting would be an asset
• Ability to liaise with industry partners and/or motivation to contribute to entrepreneurial activities
