Περιγραφή
Three fully-funded D.Phil. (Oxford’s Ph.D.) scholarships, tenable from 1st October 2017, are available at the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford, in conjunction with the AHRC-funded Creative Multilingualism programme. The Faculty offers expertise in Celtic (Welsh and Irish), French, German, Italian, Modern Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Polish and Czech, as well as in a range of other languages spoken in Europe.
The programme is designed to generate deeper understanding of the multifarious ways in which multilingualism and creativity interact, and to have a transformational impact on the role and perception of linguistic diversity and language learning in society and particularly in schools. This work involves rethinking the identity of Modern Languages, developing a concept of language use and language learning that supports the multifaceted needs of individuals and communities in the contemporary world.
The Creative Multilingualism programme is part of the Open World Research Initiative funded by the AHRC. It involves six Higher Education institutions and sixteen partners in other fields, and it collaborates closely with the OWRI programmes led by the University of Cambridge, King’s College London and Manchester University.
