The University of Sheffield working in partnership with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has developed a Florey Advanced Fellowship in Infectious Diseases. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals who have the ambition to be the next generation of world-leading academic clinicians.
Applications are now invited for up to two fixed-term Florey Advanced Fellowships in Infectious Diseases to commence in March 2016 for two years. The Fellowship is a 50:50 academic:clinical post for post-CCT physicians accredited in Infectious Diseases. Successful candidates will be expected to have high impact publications in the field and a well-developed research plan to include the submission of external Fellowships within the first year.
Full GMC registration is required, together with Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) or equivalent. Applicants should hold a CCT in Infectious Diseases in combination with either general Internal medicine or with Microbiology/Virology. The post holder(s) will be expected to fulfil clinical commitments within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including contributing to the on-call rota at Consultant level and contributing to general or specialist ID clinics as best suits their academic programme. They and will also have an academic base in the Florey Institute and the University Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease and their research will be expected to align with the Florey Institutes strategic direction.
