Περιγραφή
Integration of reservoir, well, and facilities operation is needed in reservoir management for the overall optimization of the production. This project will research numerical methods for optimal control and Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) to develop Closed-Loop Reservoir Management (CLRM) software that can potentially be used for improving the oil recovery from oil reservoirs by water flooding. The PhD student will integrate results from three other work packages and adds the control and optimization.
Requirements
Candidates must have a master degree in physics, mathematical modelling and computing, computational science and engineering, computational geoscience or equivalent academic qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates who can document skills in Nonlinear Model Predictive Control, numerical optimization algorithms, and knowledge of C/C++. In addition knowledge of adjoint methods for gradient computation and knowledge of ESDIRK methods for numerical integration will be considered an advantage. Results, when appropriate, are to be implemented into modules of an in-house COSI framework used by the industry for advanced reservoir simulations. The candidate is expected to join activities within the Centre of Energy Resources (CERE) at DTU. A good command of the English language is essential.
