1 PhD position on Vacancy CycloMedia in Netherlands | Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)

The TU/e VCA research group is involved in advanced change detection projects to exploit 2D/3D object detection processing to increase human safety during road inspection. This work is dedicated to industrial cooperation with CycloMedia in Zaltbommel, The Netherlands, for combining geo-referenced street-level panoramic imaging with focused, forward looking UHD imaging. In this cooperation, CycloMedia is offering a PhD position for the cooperation with the TU/e VCA group on advanced image processing. The PhD candidate should have an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and a strong background in signal processing with partial specialization in imaging or image processing. Knowledge of 3D image processing is a beneficial recommendation. The candidate will mostly work at CycloMedia and spend approximately 1.5-2 days/week at the TU/e VCA lab.

CycloMedia Technology (CMT) has 30-years' experience in developing street-level recordings with GIS accuracy. The technology creates parallax-free imagery with highly accurate positioning details, which is key to CMT's professional user base. CycloMedia's customers today perceive CMT's images as maps in which they can easily pinpoint the exact location of objects, identify objects automatically and calculate the dimensions of the objects selected. CycloMedia supplies accurately positioned images in combination with user friendly software that plugs into the existing customer GIS software applications. CycloMedia is the only player with proven ability to systematically capture, process and serve accurately geo-referenced imagery on a nationwide scale using an integrated system covering the entire production chain. Requirements

Candidates for the PhD position should have:

• a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science, Math or Physics with excellent grades .
• a record that shows specific interest in any or more of the following fields: signal processing, machine learning, computational neurosciences
• experience in scientific programming,
• good written and spoken command of English language;
• a positive attitude, willingness to work hard and know how to have fun at it.

Conditions of employment

We offer a challenging job at a dynamic and ambitious university through a fixed-term appointment for the period of 4 years. The research in this project must be concluded with the attainment of a Ph.D. degree. As an employee of the university you will receive a competitive salary as well as excellent employment conditions. A salary is offered starting at € 2125.-per month (gross) in the first year, increasing up to EUR 2717.- per month (gross) in the last year. Moreover, an 8% bonus share (holiday supplement) is provided annually. Assistance for finding accommodation can be given.
