2 Postdoctoral positions in theoretical high energy physics and cosmology at the Niels Bohr Institute Faculty of Science in Denmark | University of Copenhagen

The research program in question, "Exploring the Quantum Universe', is aimed at quantum gravity and quantum cosmology in the broadest sense, but people with research interest in neighboring areas like black hole physics are also invited to apply. The positions are financed by an ERC-Advanced grant held by Jan Ambjorn, and will each be for two years, starting latest September 2015. The postdoc’s duty will be to pursue independent, excellent and ground-breaking research related to the above mentioned areas.

Qualification requirements

A PhD in physics and research experience in the areas mentioned above.

Terms of salary, work, and employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The basic salary is between DKK 33,000 and DKK 35,000 (4400/4700 €/month); a supplement can be negotiated depending on qualifications. In addition to the basic salary a monthly contribution to a pension fund is added (17.1% of the salary). Most non-Danish citizens are eligible for a favorable tax scheme.
