At the Laboratory of Experimental Ophthalmology of the Department of Ophthalmology, University Hospital of the Heinrich-Heine University of Duesseldorf the position of a PhD-Student is available for 3 years as a part-time (50%) position.
Our laboratory for experimental ophthalmology focuses on basic science and translational projects in the field of regenerative medicine of the eye and the ocular surface including tissue engineering as well as biology of cornea, conjunctiva and the lacrimal gland.
The tasks include project planning, selection of methodological tools, as well as execution of a basic scientific as well as translational research project on lacrimal gland regeneration. Theoretical background and practical ability to perform methods of cell culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, biochemistry of RNA and protein analysis are expected.
- We expect a university degree in the field of molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine or biochemistry. The willingness to work with animal models is mandatory.
In addition to the above mentioned professional qualifications, we expect following personal qualifications:
- the ability to work responsibly and independently
- high degree of scientific commitment
- strong team spirit and communication capability
- knowledge of the English language, particularly written scientific English
The salary will be according to the provisions of the German collective labor agreement (TV-L). The employment contract is concluded with the Heinrich-Heine University of Dusseldorf.
