The interdisciplinary research program intends to apply quantitative and qualitative research approaches to policy relevant research questions, in particular concerning life-style related risk factors for chronic diseases.

- communicating findings to policy makers.
The applicant should have interest or prior exposure in one or more of the following research topics:
- systematic reviews (preferably using Cochrane methodology)
- risk factor epidemiology, in particular obesity, alcohol, or tobacco
- modelling or projecting population-level health consequences of changes in risk factor exposure
- policy relevant public health research / impact assessment
- public health economics
The position requires an advanced degree in one of the following (or related) areas:
- Public Health / Environmental Impact Assessment
- Demography / Epidemiology
- Health Economics / Statistics
We welcome applications from highly qualified and motivated early-career scientists of all nationalities. The successful applicants will be employed by the University of Bremen which offers an innovative research support structure for doctoral studies. Bremen is a beautiful and vibrant port city in the North of Germany, close to the North Sea. It is a good place to live, and the cost of living is very reasonable. We look forward to receiving your complete application incl. a work sample (e.g. master thesis, publication, etc.) and details of two contactable referees as soon as possible
