1 Research Assistant position in the context of the research project “Graphene Core 1, GA: 696656 – Graphene-based disruptive technologies” | Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH)

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE-HT) is seeking applicants for one position of a research assistant in the context of the research project “Graphene Core 1, GA: 696656 – Graphene-based disruptive technologies”. The project is implemented under the EU-Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation Actions (RIA) and is financially supported by EC-financed parts of the Graphene Flagship.

To conduct research in the framework of the aforementioned project “Graphene Core 1, GA: 696656 – Graphene-based disruptive technologies”. The aim of this research is to further investigate and improve the large scale production of 2D materials, such as BN and MoS2 using novel precursors. In addition, an extended study should take place on the efficiency of loading in uniaxial (tension and compression) and biaxial loading of polymer simply-supported and embedded samples of the fabricated materials.

The potential candidate should be responsible for the following main tasks:

• Preparation graphene and other 2D related materials such as BN and MoS2 using novel methods and procedures
• Assessing the properties of produced materials using techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy etc in conjunction with mechanical testing.
