Περιγραφή
The Global Drug Policy Observatory at Swansea University, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a doctoral studentship in international drug policy. This scholarship is funded by the university’s College of Arts and Humanities (COAH).
Working within the GDPO, a research centre based within the Research Institute for Arts and Humanities (RIAH) and with links to the Research Institute of Applied Social Sciences (RIASS), the studentship seeks to focus research on aspects of the increasingly complex illicit drug market and shifting international drug policy landscape. Possible subjects for research include: drug policies within Africa; current challenges faced by multilateral organisations (UN, EU, OAS etc.); drug policy reform within the Americas; crypto-drug markets and the Dark Net; the intersection – or otherwise – of drug policy and human rights and the role of NGOs/INGOs within this increasingly contested public policy domain. Applications proposing related topics are also welcome.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have a first or upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. international relations, public policy, government and politics, history, law or geography) and completed or be working towards a Master’s degree in an appropriate field. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and self-reliant.
Funding
The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax free stipend of £14,057 p.a.
An additional £600 will be available for research expenses.
