1 Postdoctoral Research position in Information Systems in Finland | University of Jyväskylä

Department of Computer Science and Information Systems is currently seeking to fulfill position of Postdoctoral Researcher in Information Systems, as of 1 October 2015 or as agreed (contract length maximum of four years).

Department of Computer Science and Information Systems aims to be a leading research institution in Europe in the field of Information Systems Science. Faculty members of the department have published their research in leading Information Systems journals, such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, and others. Faculty members hold editorial positions in reputable IS journals. The department has very strong connections to industry. Data collection opportunities are outstanding through the industrial connections.

The profile and competence of the candidate must be at such a level that it supports the above-mentioned goal. The post-holder is expected to conduct high level scientific research published in the best information systems journals, such as MIS Quarterly, Information systems research, JAIS, EJIS and others so called Basket of 6 journals (list by the Association for Information Systems). The post-holder will also be expected to seek external research funding, actively co-operate in terms of research with the other faculty members of the department, to teach and act as a supervisor for Master and Ph.D. students.

The duties and qualification requirements for the position are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations. According to the Finnish law, non-native university teaching staff can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. Good language skills in English are required. It is an advantage to the candidate to be able to teach in English.

The basic salary for the post-doctoral researcher position ranges between levels 5-6 (2852,00 – 3326,47 €/month). Based on the personal performance evaluation, the basic salary is supplemented by a personal salary element which can amount up to 46.3 % of the total salary.

A trial period of four months will be used when the positions are first filled.
