We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to the Academy of Finland -funded project “Dynamic identification of functional brain networks by Bayesian tracking of electrophysiological data”. The work will be done at the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering (NBE) of Aalto University School of Science, in close collaboration with the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Automation as well as the Dept. of Computer Science. The work will be done under guidance of Prof. Lauri Parkkonen and Prof. Simo Särkkä.
The aim of the project is to develop particle filtering and related Bayesian methods for estimating functional brain networks mainly from magnetoencephalographic (MEG) but also from electroencephalographic (EEG) and intracranial recordings. The task of the post-doc is to conduct the research and guide up to two doctoral students allocated to the project. The post-doc is expected to write high-quality scientific publications on the research results together with the PhD students and the principal investigators.
An ideal candidate has a good knowledge in some or all of the following areas: Bayesian modeling, functional connectivity estimation, particle filtering, MEG, EEG.
