DTU Wind Energy seeks a qualified candidate for a one-year postdoc position in the research project ABYSS: Advancing BeYond Shallow waterS – Optimal design of offshore wind turbine support structures funded by the Danish Council for Strategic Research.
Responsibilities and tasks
Candidates are invited to apply for the specific postdoc project “Dynamic Response Optimal Design of Jacket Structures under Many Loads”. The postdoc project develops, analyzes, and implements tractable problem formulations and efficient numerical optimization methods for sizing optimization of jacket structures under extremely many dynamic wind and wave loads. The postdoc project focuses on conceptual and preliminary optimal design for problems with continuous design variables modeling member and structural dimensions.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in either computational mechanics, wind energy, or numerical optimization.
Further qualifications:
The position requires extensive knowledge in solid and computational mechanics, structural dynamics, numerical optimization, and wind energy. The successful candidate additionally:
- Has good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Is able to work independently and take responsibility for progress and quality of projects.
- Is enthusiastic about working in collaboration with other project partners.
- Has well established skills to work in a team.
- Has strong computer programming skills.
