Climate change is at the heart of EU legislation introduced to achieve the Kyoto emissions targets. Energy efficiency is widely accepted as the most cost effective way of achieving these targets. In Europe, the Emissions Trading Scheme, the Building Energy Performance and the Energy Efficiency Directives are the focus of EU policy in order to encourage and promote awareness and investment in energy efficiency.
Presentations of the invited speakers will take place, followed by panel discussion and Q&A session chaired by Prof. Sartzetakis Director of the MSc in Sustainable Development.
Speakers:
Mr Konstantinos Gkortsopoulos, GPC UK, Partner - Head of Energy Consultancy at GPC UK, specializing in energy management consultancy and project management of multi-disciplinary teams of consulting engineers.
Dr Stella Bezergianni, Technical Chamber of Greece, President of the permanent Energy Committee of the section of Central Macedonia.
Dr Eng. Konstantinos N. Vavliakis, Centre of Research & Technology – Hellas, ITI Postdoctoral Researcher at ITI/CERTH, CASSANDRA project – financed by the Seventh Framework Research Programme of the European Commission (FP7).
The working language of the event will be Greek.
